What Is Drewnion?

Drewnion is a group set up by four Drew employees. Drewnion comes together once a week for discussions, decision-making and planning for Drew London.

Drewnion offers the chance for team members to speak up on behalf of the whole team, so that everyone has the opportunity to improve their professional and personal capabilities in order to strengthen Drew London as a whole. It allows the Drew team to excel in new areas of learning and to develop new skills like: learning to be more vocal in large team meetings, developing web design skills, improving their planning and time management, and any other areas.

Why Do We Need Drewnion?

What Does Drewnion Aim To Achieve?

Drewnion wants to support Drew culture by providing a space for team members to learn new things, get creative, explore unique ideas, and make decisions as a team.

What Does Drewnion Look Like?

Drewnion is a new endeavour that aims to be valuable to the Drew team and Drew London as a whole. Every Friday, Drewnion members will work on individual professional development or Drew focused activities. These sessions will last for two hours at the end of the day. Team members will use these sessions for any activity related to Drew London, personal professional development, or non-client based work, for example: our own brand, website, office interior or any other development that we see fit.

Drewnion Friday's So Far...

From our initial Drewnion meeting, having basic skills and understanding in web development were areas that some of the team were keen to develop their knowledge in. Kerry and Shannon want to widen their skillsets by learning web development; their aim is to create their own individual websites with the help of Nadeem and Joe. As well as their personal development, the result of this work will be improved team integration. There is plenty of jargon related to digital work that Nadeem and Joe frequently use and by developing their understanding and knowledge, Kerry and Shannon will also be able to engage with this language, improving team communications.

What Next?

We’re aiming to use a ‘lean coffee format for our meetings’. This type of meeting is structured, but agenda-less. With the help of a personal Kanban, a ‘lean coffee meeting’ structure can help improve our discussions.

For example, our next meeting will be structured using three Post-It notes. These notes outline three areas of the meeting: what we want to discuss, what we’re currently discussing, and what we’ve already discussed. We will use this system to vote on what we want to discuss, focusing our priorities and helping us to get on with making decisions and creating a more efficient and effective meeting.

We’re very excited to see all the benefits that Drewnion can offer to the Drew team and Drew London. Drewnion aims to support Drew’s culture and its team members, and provide an invaluable experience to all of Drew London.
