Last week, Kerry and I were lucky enough to visit Taste of London and support our awesome new client Mahtay. Here’s what we found:

First Off I have to mention the Taste of London signage itself – IT WAS MADE OUT OF REAL VEGETABLES! A really eye-catching touch from Maison de Fleurs and a great talking point and obligatory photography spot with visitors around the festival.

Walking around the grounds gave us plenty of opportunities to chat with new vendors and discover some exciting new brands. One of our absolute favourites was allplants. As designers, naturally, we were drawn in by the vibrant packaging and we soon got chatting to JP (the co-founder) who told us more about where the brand came from and how they sourced their natural vegan recipes and fresh ingredients. He quickly became our new favourite person after feeding us some of the delicious jackfruit curry on offer.

Not only is their branding innovative and slick, but it’s also memorable and tells a story. Check out their website and get ordering! We’ll take 8 of each please boys!

After finally managing to tear ourselves away from the free curry we ran into some lovely girls on the SunSoul drinks stand. They were keen to provide us with some delicious natural energy drinks, a much healthier alternative to those nasty drinks loaded with taurine.

We were really impressed with the typography and look of the cans; the packaging gave off a really clean feel which reflects well on the product itself. The drinks were delicious! A perfect compliment to the sunny weather. My personal favourite was the Kaffir Lime and Lemon – so refreshing! Thank you for introducing yourselves SunSoul – Top marks from the Drew London Team.

Pots & Co.

Another stand that deserves a serious shout-out is Pots & Co. Any stand that feeds our sweet tooth is always going to be a winner, but these yummy puds were out of this world; so indulgent and tasted homemade! We had to stop ourselves from going back for 3rds (yes we had seconds…you have to try more than one so you can pass proper judgement). I have got my entire family hooked and it is now my go-to dessert when popping into Waitrose! Thanks for sharing Pots & Co – we are hooked!

Of course, the most exciting part of our day was going to visit our client Mahtay! It was great to go down and see them on the stand chatting about their product and hearing the feedback from customers. The startup tent had a real buzz to it and the Mahtay banners and signs really stood out against the other stands. It was our first time tasting Mahtay dressed. It was our favourite drink of the festival with the fresh lemon and lime in it – absolute winner in our eyes – an addition of gin would be perfect for a picnic!

All in all this was a fantastic day out and a great eye opener to new brands in the food and drink industry. There are some excellent companies out there and we look forward to speaking to some of them in the near future!

Thank you Taste of London, until next year!
